Taking three wickets in four balls in her WBBL debut means there's now plenty of footage circulating of Amelia Kerr's potent leg breaks.

But Brisbane Heat's New Zealand leg-spinner isn't fazed, challenging rival batters to pick her wrong-un when she makes her home debut on Saturday.

Hype followed the 19-year-old's arrival at the Heat and she delivered on the tournament's opening weekend, coming within a whisker of a hat-trick and finishing with 3-8 from three overs as Brisbane ran through the Sydney Sixers.

A night later, 16-year-old Sydney Thunder batter Phoebe Litchfield steered her side past the Heat with a brilliant innings that further highlighted the next generation of talent set to emerge from the stand-alone tournament.

The Heat play Australian captain Meg Lanning's Perth and Hobart Hurricanes at Allan Border Field this Saturday and Sunday.

Both teams are likely to have Kerr's perfectly flighted wrong-uns on repeat in their team meetings after she proved a handful last weekend.

Ensuring her stock delivery is a similar pace to her variation, Kerr hopes it's hard to pick the difference but knows that picking it is only half the battle.

"I guess there's probably a lot of footage now of my wrong-un, but still not many have faced it," Kerr, who debuted for the White Ferns as a 16-year-old, said.

"And I think even if players can pick it they've still got to play it, plus it makes my leg-spinner even better because they're thinking of the ball spinning both ways."

Growing up waging war in the backyard with a cricket-playing mother and sister, Kerr's classic spinner's mindset means she relishes the mental battle at the crease.

"I don't sledge or anything, but I love the strategy of it and having four fielders out (of the circle) in T20 is a great challenge," she said.

"I love having to think about that and bowl to suit my fields."

Four WBBL matches will be played at Allan Border Field this weekend, with Adelaide Strikers also featuring in games against the Hurricanes and Scorches on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
