Children receive three free lessons to get a taste for the sport. The club provides golf balls and clubs, though children can bring their own clubs if they have them.
If they like golf they can join the Junior Golf Club for $17 per annum. And, if they register their Active Kids voucher with the club, they will get a free golf shirt and get their membership money back. They will also get lessons from a pro after six months for free (when registered with their Active Kids Voucher).
A number of boys have already started on Sundays and the club would like to see some girls head along.
The club has approached local schools to let them know of this new opportunity, and St Patrick's are bringing students along in Term 4 to learn golf and bowls.
There is a new dedicated junior golf course at Macksville, which sits alongside the main course.
Schools are welcome to participate for school sports on the junior course and the club would be happy to help with the teaching of golf, or lawn bowls.
