The strike is three days before world leaders meet in New York for the UN Emergency Climate Summit. it will spread across seven continents and 120 countries.
Nambucca Valley residents who want to take part should meet at the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre at noon.
They will be joining over 100 cities and towns with hundreds of thousands expected to participate, as well as over 30 unions including the nurses and teachers plus over 1000 businesses including Atlassian, Canva, Domain and Intrepid.
The Anglican and Uniting Churches have also pledged their commitment.

Background: Inspired by Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg, teenagers in regional Victoria kicked off the school strike movement in Australia last October with 20,000 students striking nationally in November and then 150,000 in March.
Unable to vote at the recent Federal Election, students were not deterred but instead committed to use the September strike to build a bigger, bolder movement to confront the climate crisis.
