Just before midday a fire in a paddock off Newee Creek Rd was reported, and gusty winds had it on the march helped by the super dry fuel load.
Fire and Rescue NSW Nambucca Heads along with multiple trucks from the NSW Rural Fire Service were fast on scene, as was aerial water-bombing support.
The RFS response included Newee Creek, Valla Beach, Warrell Creek, Valla, Headquarters, Gumma and Talarm.
"When crews arrived an area of grass was alight in a paddock and spreading under strong winds. Pumper 397 quickly got to work while Tanker 397 gained access to the paddock and got to work. The fire was quickly extinguished," Fire and Rescue Nambucca Captain Rob Couchman said.
