Over 50 evacuees from the Bees Nest fire west of Dorrigo are currently sheltering in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the town with many others staying with friends & family.
An evacuation centre has been set up at the local show ground, where people are being fed and clothed.
Firefighters are continuing to work around the clock with little sleep

Today's needs include:
- Hay for animals is desperately needed. Beaumonts Dorrigo has offered to supply & deliver free, $29.50 bale for lucerne hay - 6657 2389
- Snack items
- Trail mix, etc
- Snap lock bags for kids
- Colouring-in paper
- Berocca or Arbonne essentials Fizz sticks
- Lip balm/chap sticks
- Soft drinks/Powerade
- Potatoes and onions
- Baked food for firefighters
The response so far has been amazing, with the centre overwhelmed with clothes yesterday after a similar call-out.
Items can be left at the Food Hub, 91 Wallace St, Macksville - it is staffed on Wednesday and Thursday, otherwise call 0414 628 739 to arrange drop-off.
