A sixteen-year-old driver from Bowraville has been charged following a wild car chase that ended in Urunga.

The chase started in Bellingen on Friday morning and led police along fire trails before ending at Urunga with the use of road spikes.
The pursuit started at 11.30am when the driver did not heed a police request to stop. Instead the car, with its four occupants, headed out of town and into the forest east of Bellingen with one police car hot on its tail.
The car was finally stopped 25km later by road spikes put in place by police at the intersection of Giinagay Way and Martells Rd, Urunga.
The four youths ran from the car but were quickly stopped by police. Three were dealt with at the scene and the fourth, a 16-year-old from Bowraville, was arrested.
He was charged with learner not accompanied, police pursuit, driving dangerously, use of an unregistered vehicle, drive an uninsured vehicle and use of misleading number plates.
He was bailed and will appear before Coffs Harbour Children's Court on October 14.
