The Bowraville Recreation Club Sports Day was held on August 17 and raised $700 towards hospital equipment.
Margaret Mottley from BowraMacksville UHA said the club, which has supported UHA for many years, generously donated their golf and bowls green fees for the day. Local businesses also donated goods for a raffle.
"We would like to thank the Bowraville IGA for their donation to the raffle and to all the other people that donated and bought raffle tickets .
"The Bowraville Recreation Club has organised a Sports Day and supported the UHA for many years and we would encourage other clubs to put on a day for the hospital.
"The new hospital will need many things when they open. This year we have donated a defibrillator worth over $30000 and have the money set aside to purchase two state-of-the-art birthing baths for the new Hospital worth over $32000.
"So you can see we need everyone's support. Our volunteers man the Coffee Shop at the Hospital and run raffles through the year but if the community could help in some way it would be appreciated," Mrs Mottley said.
