The event is hosted by Rotary Club of Nambucca Heads, Ritchies IGA Nambucca Heads and The Island Golf Club and is an afternoon for people to come together, taste some great wines along with good food and conversation and all for a very important cause.
Water NSW says NSW is experiencing one of the most severe droughts on record, with the Central West, Far West and North West regions the worst affected. The last six months have seen the lowest recorded inflows into the system ever.
Back here where the grass is still green, from 1pm to 4.30pm at the Island Golf Club, there will be the equivalent of seven cellar doors in one room ... with samples of boutique beers from Lion Nathan and Vok Beverages as well as wines from Taylors, DeBortoli, Angrove, Treasury Wine Estates, Tempus Two, Beresford and Tamburlaine.
Food platters of meats, cheeses and other fresh products will showcase the variety and diversity of the deli department of Ritchies Supa IGA.
Ritchies Supa IGA Peter Grace said the afternoon was the perfect 'try before you buy' situation.
"There will be plenty of experts on hand to answer any questions people have about wines or beers," Peter said
"Plus we will have a variety of hot foods for tasting!"
The entry fee is $20, all of which goes to the Rotary Appeal.
Tickets are available from IGA Liquor Nambucca, Helloworld Travel Nambucca Heads and The Remnant Basket Macksville.
If you are unable to attend, donations can be made directly to Rotary Drought for Farmers Appeal online at http://rawcs.org.au/donate. A tax deductable receipt can be obtained from this online donation.
Come along and support our farmers who are suffering so much during this drought period.
