This Saturday the psychedelic anniversary will be celebrated at the Macksville Showgrounds with a community event that has grown and grown, just like its namesake.
What started as a light bulb moment for Dianne Potter on New Year's Eve, intended to be a backyard gig out Bowra way, has taken on a life of its own.
Around 1600 people are expected to roll up to hear nine Coffs Coast bands revive the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, Joe Cocker and others who delighted the masses.
With more than a little help from her friends as well as a number of the community organisations, Dianne and the team are preparing for a memorable 24 hours.
"Woodstock was a significant event in my youth but I was too young to go ... so this is a way of feeling that vibe!" Dianne said.
Music on the main stage starts at 1pm through until midnight. Entry is free, donations gladly accepted, camping is $20 per site.
