The afternoon concert by these young musicians raised $3,000 to donate to assist asylum seeker families living in Australia.
First on stage was a string quartet playing some beautiful lyrical compositions with great accomplishment. Next up was the amazing jazz ensemble with a variety of compositions and individual solo highlights.
The interval was lively with bargain art works on sale and a typical Aussie raffle.
We then had a change of tempo and were entertained by a singer-songwriter duo Snez and Stuart from Valla. They exuded life and energy onstage. Stewart had written a special song to address the plight of refugees which was very moving.
The final group to take the stage was the Bellingen Youth Orchestra Sinfonia. They played with passion and feeling and had theaudience on their feet.
The small hall and main hall of the NCAC were both utilised to the full and the courtyard proved essential for the transport of the musicians and their instruments.

Thank you to all who attended.
Every $5 we raised provides a meal for a family of four. The funds we raised will be donated to the Asylum Seeker Centre in Sydney, which provides, food, accommodation, medical assistance, English lessons and legal aid to families now living in extreme poverty yet not permitted to seek work in Australia.
Musicians of the Bellingen Youth Orchestra enjoyed the afternoon and we hope they will come back at some point in the future.
We would like to thank them for giving us such a wonderful afternoon and so generously performing in this benefit concert.
