At no point was it out of control, but the amount of smoke it generated caused their switchboard to light up with people calling it in.
However, another 'out of control' bush fire along Wilson Rd has just come in over the comms.
Supt Ison said this is the third hazard reduction burn that has got away from local landholders in the past 24 hours.
Because of ongoing dry conditions RFS is looking to implement the Fire Danger Period from this Thursday, August 1 - a month ahead of schedule.
Update 11.20am: Fire is now deemed 'under control' according to Fires Near Me app.
A bush fire along Wilson Rd, Congarinni, is currently being attended by local Rural Fire Service crews.
The current status of the fire is 'out of control' as registered on the 'Fires Near Me' app.
The app was last updated at 10.44am.
The fire looks to be situated behind a property on the land side of Wilson Rd, just before the Spaldings Rd turnoff, as you approach Bowraville.
Multiple RFS crews have already been tasked to attend the fire, including one from Warrell Creek.
There is a heavy plume of smoke currently billowing across Kings Point and North Macksville.
But there is still full access along Wilson Rd at the moment.
More information will be released once it is known.
