On Saturday the Bowra Hotel was cranking with people chipping into the RUOK? cause and getting the conversation started about mental health.
"It scared the living daylights out of us there were that many there," Danny 'Doot' Doolan said.
"It exceeded our expectations, that's for sure!"
Groups from Scotts Head, Valla, North Arm, South Arm, Missabotti, Bowra, Macksville, Nambucca, and everywhere in between were shaking the pub until the early hours of the morn.
There were even a few from Wagga and Lismore.
Around $5000 was raised on the night to add to the $7K already collected by the City2Surf team.
"We were amazed at the auction," Doot said. "The West Tigers signed footy jersey went for $450."
And with the major raffle going for another week, there could be another $1000 or so to add to the mix.
The party kicked on well into the night, with 70 to 80 people still there after last drinks were called at midnight.
"Yeah, there were a few sore heads the next day...one of them was mine," Doot said.
Then on Sunday, more of the Valley's sporting clubs got in on the action with donations buckets and decorations in every shade of yellow.
Around $800 was collected from the weekend sports' gold coin donations.
"It was a real feelgood weekend," Doot said.
So two weeks out from the City2Surf relay, the 50-strong team is well-and-truly on their way to that $20K target.
But Elisse, Gemma and Doot succeeded even before the money was counted.
If the sea of yellow across the Valley's sports clubs and businesses is anything to by, there's no doubt that 'checking in with your mates' is now front and centre of most people's minds.
And that's something to really celebrate.
