This time rumour has it that Woolworths might be giving up their coveted real estate at the top of Fraser St.
Some say they've refused to resign their lease.
Others add that the action on the land adjacent to the Hyland Park turnoff is in preparation for the supermarket's impending move.
While others still, whisper that the groceries giant is planning to relocate to behind the Nambucca Service Centre, in the new Valla Urban Growth Area.
Far be it for us to end the fun, but we took your whispers to the horse's mouth to set the record straight.
"I can confirm there is no truth to that rumour!" a spokesperson from Woolworths said.
"We have no plans to either close or relocate our Nambucca Heads store."
When we asked Council General Manager Michael Coulter about the site beside the Mann St roundabout, he said it was still on the market.
Council have had a few small bites - one in particular from someone considering launching a carwash there - but none that have progressed past preliminary enquiries.
The site is designated as industrial, so a retailer is not eligible to set up shop there.
So there you have it, while there might be a bucket of community desire to utilise that amazing view for something other than a carpark, it is unlikely to happen in the near future.
Sorry to burst your collective bubble.
