The new funding has been announced through the Morrison Government's $30.2 million Local Schools Community Fund.
Member for Cowper Pat Conaghan said the funding will allow schools in the Kempsey, Nambucca and Bellingen shires to undergo projects to benefit local students.
"We have up to $200,000 to distribute to schools just in the Cowper electorate through the Morrison Government's $30.2 million Local Schools Community Fund," Mr Conaghan said.
The funding is available to both government and non-government schools to invest in projects that will benefit the students and the school community.
"This is new money schools can spend on anything from extra classes, music equipment or air-conditioning, on projects valued from $1000 to $20,000, provided they can demonstrate it will benefit the school.
"School leaders know what is best for their schools, and the Local Schools Community Fund allows them to pursue a project that will make the biggest difference to their students' education."
There are a range of options that local schools can use the funding for.
"Funding for small-scale extensions or classroom refurbishments, new computer facilities, mental health and counselling services, playground equipment, library resources, or sports facilities are all covered through this fund," Mr Conaghan said.
Schools are able to lodge one application for the funding through SchoolsHUB. Applications open on July 25 and will close on September 30.
The projects that receive funding must be completed by the end of 2020. Local advisory committees will also independently assess each application.
