Nambucca Shire Council agreed to be the Project Sponsor for four projects.
They are:
- Ball Play at Valla Beach - Anderson Park, Valla Beach
- Dawkins Park Outdoor Sustainability Centre - Macksville
- Gordon Park Accessible Playground - Nambucca Heads
- Museum Annex - Reading Room for historical newspapers - Mary Boulton Pioneer Cottage & Museum, Macksville.
"All four projects have made it through the assessment round and are now open to the public vote," the mayor said.
"There is a total $260,000 of funding available for the whole electorate of Oxley, so your vote really does count to ensure at least one of the community projects is successful."
Voting closes on 15 August 2019 and can be accessed through the Service NSW website. You will need a MyServiceNSW account and your Medicare Card to vote for your preferred or favourite project or you can visit the local Service NSW Centre and cast your vote there.
Voters are able to select three to five projects as part of their vote or order of preference. Projects in each electorate will be ranked in order of total points received. People can only vote once.
The project with the most points will be funded first, the project with the second most points will be funded second and so on until no more projects can be fully funded with funding for Oxley.
She said if any of the above projects are successful, council is then responsible for the project delivery with the community group/member that initially submitted the project idea to the My Community Project program.
"If the Nambucca Valley community is active in the voting and in supporting local projects we will be able to secure some needed funding."
