It was 11 nil after six ends, and the seeds of hope were planted, the local team were in striking distance to knock off the defending champs. Sadly, it wasn't to be, and the chance to take the title passed.
The Cabramatta team clawed back and showed everyone the skill and tenacity that saw them take out the title last year. It was close right until the last ball, but eventually, the visitors won out and secured the major $10,000 prize, 19 to 14.
"It was a close final; the opposing team was made up of quality bowlers," winning skipper Jay Porter said.
"We have had some very close games against them, so we knew they would be tough, and they didn't disappoint.
"All the players have been fantastic, and the supporters have all been really fair, we weren't the local team, but they still clapped us and made us feel welcome."
There are decades of experience on offer in the team from Cabramatta, and Skipper Jasy Porter has more than a few wins under his belt; however, he credits super coach and manager Jock Headly as a crucial component in the winning team.
"I've been on winning teams, along with my father Graeme in 2007, 2008 and 2009, last year and now this year too," he said.
"We can't thank Jock enough, and the other teams and all the sponsors for a great day, we will definitely be back again next year," he said.

The local team may have gone down in the final, but there were no hard feelings, rather it was the latest chapter in their friendly rivalry.
"We have known them for ages, they are our friends, we will have a drink with them before the end of the night," Porter said.
President of the Nambucca Heads Bowls Club Tony Stokes was also very impressed with the event and is looking forward to doing it all again next year.
"We have been getting great feedback, walking around everyone is having a fantastic time, the hospitality, friendship and organisation have been top-notch," he said.
"It's not just one person who organises days like this, thank you to the committee, the club and all the sponsors.
"We have already signed most of the teams for next year, and we look forward to seeing everyone again. "
