These championships will be held in two venues and the results merged together to get a result in each event.
The northern part of the area will be held at Trinity Lismore Indoor Pool and the southern venue will be at Forster Indoor pool.
Both venues are heated and excellent facilities. Something that is lacking in such a big area.
The North Coast Area extends from Bulahdelah in the south to Tweed heads in the north.
The entries for both venues are up again on last year.
In 2019, the Lismore venue has 1102 entries and 136 swimmers from 16 area clubs and three visiting clubs expected. The clubs are Alstonville, Casino, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Kingscliff, Lismore Workers, Macksville, Maclean, Mullumbimby, Murwillumbah, Nambucca Heads, Port, SRT, Trinity Lismore, Twin Towns and Wauchope.
The Forster venue has 983 entries from 126 swimmers from 11 area clubs and two visiting clubs.
The clubs are Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Forster, Kempsey, Laurieton, Macksville, Port Macquarie, Sawtell, Stroud, Taree and Wauchope.
National swimmers in action at Lismore will include Tylah Crabtree (Trinity Lismore) and Lauchlan Walker (Alstonville) who both made national finals. Other national representatives on the pool deck will be Madeline Ewig (SRT), Toby Campbell and Aiden Yourell (Lismore Workers) and Rebecca Nichol (Trinity Lismore).
National swimmers in action at Forster will be Claire Van Kampen and Nash Wilkes (from the host club), Claire and Sarah McIntosh (Laurieton), and Pheobe Bentley, Hayley Kable and Mathilda King.
From Macksville, Declan 'the Decimator' Sutton will be among the stars, as will fellow national swimmers Bevan Smith (Taree) and Morgan Jean (Wauchope).
Do come and see the swimmers in action over the weekend.
Meanwhile, congratulations to Margaret Jopling from Swimming North Coast who was awarded an OAM for her service to the community of Kempsey - a well deserved award in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
