Bowraville Central School's substantial participation in the recent Macksville Show was rewarded with an impressive swag of prizes.

As well as winning the schools' display in the pavilion, many students were delighted to find a first or second ticket on their entries in the cooking competitions.

The cattle team achieved outstanding success not only at Macksville, but also at the Coffs Harbour and Bellingen Shows.

Cattle team students competed in both the dairy and beef events at Macksville and Bellingen.

At the Macksville Show, Bowraville Central had three teams of students/teachers and parents who competed in the Farmer's Challenge.

After school farm sessions

The school holds weekly after school sessions out at the farm, where cattle team students learn how to lead, tie up, handle, groom, clip and parade the school animals.

Students have also been busy hand addressing sponsorship letters to local business so that they can start planning their second Annual Cowboy Bingo event in September.

The mega raffle for the event has been well supported with local business Trisley's Betta Electrical donating a generous $250 gift certificate for first prize.

Students are hoping to raise enough money to be able to attend the National Red Poll Youth Camp in Glenn Innes later in the year. Thank you to all local businesses that have supported the students in the school's pursuit of excellence in agriculture.
