Nambucca Shire rated best in Australia when it comes to good rubbish management

The Nambucca Shire has recently been named as number 8 on the list of Top 25 Most Efficient Smart City Deployments using the Bigbelly smart waste and recycling system for 2018.

Among the 25 areas named, the Nambucca Valley is the only region in Australia to make the list, with larger countries such as the US and UK making up most of the tally.

Worldwide the Bigbelly systems have collected 144,112,133 gallons (545,523,766 litres) of waste in public spaces in 2018, and 22,520,056 gallons (85,247,685 litres) were diverted from landfills throughout last year thanks to the use of the units.
