The woman was reportedly hit by a car, and sustained multiple injuries.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended, and the woman was treated at the scene by the aircraft doctor and paramedic.

She was then stabilised for transport to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The woman is understood to be in a serious condition.

Police attended and a section of the main street of Bowraville was cordoned off.
