Last month the Nambucca Valley Country Music Club held the Easter Country Music Festival at the Nambucca Bowls Club.
The two-day festival, held on April 20 and 21, had both local and visiting artists play to help raise money for "Riding for the Disabled" at Kempsey and the 'Palliative Care Section' of Macksville Hospital.
Graham Mossman, who is a member of the Country Music Club committee, and also the media officer, was thrilled with how the event went.
"It was quite successful, we were very busy Saturday, and Sunday was even bigger. We would have had at least 140 people in attendance", he said.
Starting at noon on Easter Saturday, the festival featured a line up of several well-known country music artists backed up by the Nambucca Valley Country Music Clubs five-piece band.
"The Country Music entertainment provided was excellent, and a special thank you to all of the artists who participated in this event," Graham said.
"Lindsay 'Waddo' Waddington from the Gold Coast, Kerry Walsh, Rob Breese and duo BACKTRACKKIN' all from Tamworth. Trevor Reeves from Coffs Harbour, Freddy Bowen from Tweed Heads and Jhonny Warren with sister Rose, who were the guest performers on Sunday."
At the Sunday concert, the Nambucca Valley Country Music Club generously donated all funds generated by the festival to the two charities, 'Riding for the Disabled' at Kempsey and the "Palliative Care Section" of Macksville Hospital.
With the success of this year's event, the local country music club is preparing to hold another festival in 2020; the proceeds will be donated to charities announced at a later date.
Keep an eye out for the country music clubs regular monthly concerts where they showcase local talent and visiting country music stars.
