Nambucca River Show Society president, Lee Laverty, said all went well considering the weather.
"The biggest surprise and the highlight for me was the size of the cattle roll-up," Lee said.
"The stalls were packed to the rafters, which was great to see considering the drought conditions just over the hill.
"Even in Sydney the cattle numbers were down but here they were bigger than we've seen for quite a few years."
Lee said dairy cattle numbers were also strong, given the pressures on the industry, and there was a good showing of poultry.
"The pavilion was great and the vegetables were plentiful in spite of the weather, which was another surprise."
He said everyone could rest assured the Macksville Show would be back again - in 51 weeks!
