Taking the honour in A grade was Graham Weary (9 handicap) with 39 points, just ahead of Glen Crow (12) who had a round of 37 points.
Making the best of some good form Steve Frost (15) won B grade with a round of 39 from Phillip Woodgate (Burleigh Heads) (15) 38 points. Playing his best golf since becoming a full member, Tommy Robbins (31) will bring his handicap down after a round of 40 points to win C grade. Runner-up in the grade was Scott Burley (21) with 38 points. Other good rounds came from Andrew MacKinnon, Mark McLaren and Peter Moxon all 37 points. On 36 points we had Gary Beggs, John Heagney, Mark McFaul and Colin Dunne.
Pins for the round went to Ronald Cook at the second, Peter Farrell won the 5th as well as the 13th. Dave Rosser took the 7th and Stephen Carr won the 8th. Dennis Ashton won Stu's Ball at 15, and Jason Belt took out a healthy Pro Pin at 18. Balls in the rundown went to 32 and to collect with this number will be Rhys Porter (Armidale), Stephen Carr, Dale Murray (Port Macquarie) and Greg McCoy.
Last Thursday, 80 players took to the course and coming out on top in Division 1 was Phillip Woodgate (16) who had 36 points. He took the countback from Ken Marriott (15).
Paul Miller (Forster-Tuncurry) took out Division 2 with 35 points from a 24 handicap. Runner-up was Peter Dawe (25) 34 points. The ball rundown went to 30 with eight players to collect: Stephen Toyne, Don Fenton, Paul MacElhinney, Joe Street, Urpo Ylinen, Andrew MacKinnon, Rod Robertson and Don Wills.
Nearest the pins went to Hans Jansen, Stu Johnston, Les Mohr, Neil Duffus and Paul Habgood, with Andrew Bagust taking out the Pro Pin.
This Saturday will see a two person ambrose so please select a playing partner for the round.
Dorrigo GC hosted the Mid North Coast two man ambrose championship. The winners on countback were the Woolgoolga combination of L Toms and A Hart who had a five under par 59 gross from D Swain and M Brindle.
