School Learning Support Officer, Lisa McKay, set a number of records in swimming during her days as a student at Bowraville Central School in the 1980s.
On Thursday, February 14 Lisa watched on as 12-year-old Toria Kete broke the 13-years 50-metre freestyle record that Lisa set in 1985.
Lisa still holds three records at the school - all in 50-metre butterfly in different age groups. She also witnessed her 16-year-old niece, Wurinda Gill, break an amazing five records in 50-metre freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and 100-metre freestyle.
The primary school students also had a great attendance and participation at the carnival. Twenty students qualified to go to compete at district level.
A great finale to the carnival was the staff versus students relay. With two record breaking swimmers on their team the students were always going to win.
