The Eungai TABLE first met September last year and has continued to gather on the last weekend of each month, alternating Saturday and Sundays to swap produce and stories.

Produce swaps are quickly emerging as a way for people to trade their surplus produce, preserves, and other goodies, but also an excellent way of building community.
In addition to the fabulous fresh and often organically grown fruit, veggies, seedlings, plants, herbs, eggs, nuts, and honey, there is a vast array of goods made from local produce.
There is also a skill exchange, yoga class vouchers, massages, computer repairs, chainsaw sharpening lessons, gardening advice and muscle, native beekeeping advice; if you need something, you only have to ask.
“Swap a chook for a book,” says coordinator Ainslie Shields.
The TABLE also holds workshops, with topics ranging from beeswax wrap making to making Chinese dumplings.
No money changes hands; the joy lies in wandering around the stalls, chatting with producers, sharing ideas, bemoaning the weather, and then negotiating your exchange.
Morning tea is available for sale, and workshops have a variable fee to cover costs, with all money raised going towards improvement projects at the hall.
The Eungai TABLE is held at Eungai District Soldiers’ Memorial Hall, corner of Eungai Creek Road and Hall Road, Eungai Creek.
The next TABLE meet is all set for Saturday, February 23 from 10 am to midday, the upcycling workshop begins at 11.30 am, bring your lunch and a gold coin donation.
