The book was compiled by museum volunteer and local history enthusiast, George Micolich, and features local historical photos, stories and interesting gazetted articles, along with other historical NSW Police photos and information.
Mr Micolich said the creation of the book came about while digitising and restoring photographic images for the Nambucca Headland Museum, where he is a volunteer.
"In 2016, being a volunteer in policing for the NSW Police, as well as being in the process of restoring images of the Nambucca Heads Police Station, I realised the value of the year 2018, which coincided with the 80th anniversery of the police station, which was established in 1938," Mr Micolich said.
"I started to research into the history of the station. Realising that there was sufficient material to produce a 80th anniversary booklet for the occasion, the project started to take shape.
"After adding a few extra NSW Police history items and stories, and after consultation with our commanders, the result was a 30-page anniversary soft cover book.
The 80th anniversary booklet is dedicated to the Nambucca Heads Police Station and the members that have served in its historical past.
The book will be on sale for $10, with all donations going to the museum.
The reproduction of other historic photos and posters are also available at Nambucca Headland Museum, Liston St, Nambucca Heads.
The NSW Police Force and Nambucca Headland Museum, along with the NSW Police History Forum are acknowledged and thanked for their contribution in compiling this historical book.
NSW Police Members mentioned in this booklet: Constable Fullalove, Constable Constable, Constable Genner (Jenner), Constable Conner, Sergeant McCrea, Constable Holland, Constable Carroll, Constable Hill, Constable Yardy, Constable Heron, Constable Gorman, Constable Long, Constable Peate, Constable Endicott, Sergeant Turner – Kempsey, Sergeant Freebody – Glenreagh.
