On Friday shortly after 1am police were alerted by members of the public who were holding a 15-year-old outside a Valla address after the young person had allegedly broken into a garage and stolen a vehicle.

It is alleged that during his attempt to escape with the vehicle, he collided with and destroyed the front deck and letterbox of the residence before colliding with another vehicle.
The young person was charged at Macksville Police Station with a number of offences and was refused bail and appeared before Coffs Harbour Children's Court yesterday.
Domestic violence
Police arrested a 31-year-old man at a Valla address on Saturday afternoon following a domestic violence incident in which a 25-year-old woman allegedly sustained a facial injury and property was damaged.
The man was charged at Macksville Police Station and released on bail to appear before Macksville Local Court tomorrow (Thursday).
Mid range drink drive
A 28-year-old man was arrested by police on Tuesday night after a single vehicle accident on Talarm Rd, Talarm.
The driver was uninjured after the vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto its side, however he returned a positive RBT result.
He underwent a breath analysis at Macksville Police Station where he returned a mid range PCA of 0.105.
The man was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Macksville Local Court on March 14 as well as an infringement notice for Negligent Driving.
