Over the weekend the Island Golf Course at Nambucca Heads saw the Nambucca women’s first 18 hole Stableford competition for the year. 36 eager players battled it out in oppressive conditions on the Stuart Island course in three separate grades.

Helen Ferrero was the A grade winner with a good score of 35 points, coming in a close second was Jennifer Johnston on a respectable 32. B grade was taken out by Sue Seymour with a 34, hot on her heels was runner up Angela Paton on 32.C grade was won by Nicole Purser on 33, with Wendy Ritchie coming in a close second on 32.
Nearest the pins on 5th in the A grade was Glenys Thompson. In the B Grade it was Narelle Delaney and C grade saw Kerry Shearer nearest the pins. Meanwhile, Lillian Lukins won the pizza on 13th and Henry Oldenhove earned the 18th pro pin. The ball run went to 28 points.
On the first and third Sundays of each month, the Nambucca Golf Club holds mixed events open to members and visitors. They are designed to be social events with a start time of 11am. The first Sunday is always a mixed 4BBB Stableford, while the third is a mixed 4BBB.
