In fact Macksville will be more like Nashville through March 28-31, as the Nambucca Valley plays host to the Inaugural Macksville Music Muster.
The Muster is the brainchild of locally grown and nationally acclaimed country music performer Vanessa Sanger.
Vanessa is teaming with Macksville Rotary to drive this major musical event that will have it all from day one.
During the Muster’s three-and-a-half days visitors will experience some of Australia’s best country music with headliners Glen Albrecht, Vanessa Sanger, Matt Scullion, Paul Crowder, the Gotanni Sisters, Kate Hindle, Errol Gray, Brendan Smoother, Graham Howle, Larry Cann, Dianne Coombes, Rob Breese, Bob Howson, Lach McKay, the Salvo Country Band and the Slim Dusty Tribute Band.
But the Macksville Music Muster 2019 is about much more than bringing big acts to town.
There will also be ‘walk ups’ where aspiring country artists can perform to the crowd supported by the Muster’s own backing band.
There will also be bush poets, a song writers’ workshop and performances by many well known local and Interstate country music artists.
As the newest event on the Country Music Muster Circuit, the Macksville showcase aims to become an annual feature on the Australian country music landscape.
The event will be headquartered at the Macksville Showground on the banks of the beautiful Nambucca River and will offer a range of camping options so visitors can enjoy as much of the Muster as they like.
The Macksville Muster will also be giving back to the local community. Proceeds from ticket sales, raffles and auctions will go to support the VallyCATs, a Macksville Rotary Club project that is supported by Royal Far West and identifies and treats local children who enter school with untreated childhood development problems such as those requiring speech therapy.
Organisers expect that around 300 caravan sites at the Macksville Showground will be snapped up. The ticket price options covering camping and entertainment are inexpensive and will attract many hundreds of visitors to the Nambucca Valley and is sure to have a positive spin-off for local businesses.
The NSW Government, Nambucca Shire Council and some leading local businesses such as The Guardian News, Nambucca Heads RSL Club, Fortade Earthmoving, Mid Coast Trucks, Macksville Foodworks, Sable Engineering and the Miramar Motel can see the benefits of such an event for the area and have been quick to get behind this event.
