After approximately four hours of searching one of the Eungai Brigade tankers found the vehicle with two occupants and administered first aid.
Another tanker then guided an ambulance officer to the site, where both crews assisted with the recovery of the 46-year-old man and 37-year-old woman to a location where they could be transferred to an ambulance.
They were taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
