RE: ‘NAMBUCCA’S poxy parkers stir mobility scooter outrage’ (Nambucca Guardian online, January 11). Yes, they do have a beef regarding footpaths but let’s remember the footpath is for walking on and not for the sole rights of scooter users.

They would have to be the rudest people, caring nothing about anyone but themselves. They toot their horn, and yell at you to get out of the way.
If the truth was to be known half are just as capable of walking but are too lazy to do so. Lord help yourself if you encounter one in a shop.

RE: ‘SCOTCHING those ALDI rumours’ (Guardian, January 10).
Yes, Mr Coulter, you have got it right. I quote: "The zoning there is not right for a supermarket" – as per Ute's article re the rumoured ALDI site at Newville.
What a pity the shire council's "powers to be" didn't think along these lines some 18 or so years ago when the Woolworths development was approved. That site is totally and utterly unsuitable from all aspects – as many residents and visitors would agree. I'd swap it for the rumoured site any day.
