Nine of these boys were under 16, so nominating this team to play in the Senior State Cup was testament to the association’s development plan.
An early start for their first game against Parramatta proved that these players had prepared well and certainly belonged in the competition – going down 6-4 in a game that went to the wire. An ACL rupture brought one of the team’s hardest worker’s weekend to an end.
The following three games did not result in a win but all three matches again showed the spirit.
The team played in the Bowl finals series. Their first game in this resulted in another nail-biting finish, going down to St George 6-5. The young Falcons finished off the competition with a six-all draw against Hornsby. The team are excited heading into Junior State Cup in February in Port Macquarie.
