This time though, the cargo will be toys and presents for Christmas rather than stock feed or water.
“Today we are sending out well over $10 000 worth of presents, this is for their Christmas,” Macksville Ex-Services club Chief Executive Officer Judy Ward said.
“We couldn't have done all this without community support, people have been so generous with their time and gifts.”
“Everyone involved has been a volunteer, people around the community, our staff here at the club, everyone has come together to help.”
The gifts are varied and age-appropriate and will ensure that our vulnerable farmers can at least give their children a good Christmas this year.
“There are a variety of toys for kids 8 and under, while we have gift cards and some other age-appropriate toys for older kids. There are also family gift cards and fuel cards,” Ms Ward said.

After leaving Macksville, the gifts will make their way to the “Do it for our Farmer's group” who will distribute them to the drought-stricken farmer families. “Doing it for our Farmers” is a team of volunteers who are dedicated to raising awareness and supporting farmers who are experiencing tough times in the devastating drought.
Anyone still looking to donate to the cause can drop off donations to the Macksville Ex-Services Club.
“We are still accepting donations, there are organisations like this all around the country, so if people want to help they can do it wherever they are,” Ms Ward said.
