Doug Smith reports – on Thursday the winners were Tony Baker, Tony Pickvance and Ken Ainsworth Jnr, from Jye McAiliffe, Don Rennie and Cliff Yager. The jackpot of $213 is still up for the taking this afternoon.

Nambucca Heads Men
Fred Pope reports – last Wednesday’s Club Selected Triples attracted a field of 32 bowlers. The $15 winners were Ali Kyle, Warren Gallop and Joe Franck. Second place $10 winners were Andrew Overton and Graham Horne. Third prize $5 winners were Warwick Lean, Don Lean and Ian Poletti. Lucky losers’ $5 prize went to Corrin Nouws, Mike Edwards and Syd Campton. Lucky bowler was Andrew Overton. The jackpot of $300 was not won. The second draw of $150 went to Danny Curran, Andrew Overton, Graham Horne and Doug Cedelland.
Friday’s Nominated Men’s Triples attracted 66 bowlers. The $15 first prize winners were Terry Harvey, Terry Snowden and Fred Pope. Second place $10 winners were Geoff Hartmann, Helmut Rauchenberger and Cec Smith. Third place $10 prize winners were Wayne Bolton, Ken Summerville and Tony Urquhart. The lucky losers’ $10 prize went to John Hogarth, John Richardson and Danny Curran. The $15 lucky bowler was Ray Hunt. The jackpot of $540 was not won.

Scotts Heads Women
Kate Flippence reports – Sunday saw our Men’s and women’s annual break up/presentation day beginning with our usual East/West bowl tournament with much fun, laughter, name calling, ball tampering, sledging, you name it! But the Easties won the day (woohoo).
Then came the Ladies presentation and the winners were:
Fours: Jo Evelyn’s team of Michelle Webber, Jan Walters and Judy Hawkins, def Julie Kay’s team of Joy Harge, Heather Vollmer and Maree Hodgson.
Triples: Jo Evelyn’s team of Michelle Webber and Judy Hawkins, def Julie Kay’s team of Joy Harge and Maree Hodgson.
Pairs: Jo Evelyn and Michelle Webber def Janine Budge and Julie Kay.
Major Singles: Jo Evelyn def Han Walters.
Minor Singles: Jo Evelyn def Julie Kay.
Consistency: Jo Evelyn def Kate Flippence.
A huge congratulations to Jo on scooping the pool, and a special congratulations to Judy Hawkins on winning the most improved player.
So next year it all starts again on January 17.
Scotts Head Men
Gary Bishop reports – Sunday was our annual joint men's and women's presentation day and we were blessed with beautiful conditions. For the key events of the year Jo Evelyn took out both the Minor and the Major Singles titles for the women while Peter Bishop won the men's Minor Singles. The men's Major Singles was again taken out by Hagop Aladjadjian, his seventh in a row.
The award sponsored by the late Ben Budge and his wife Janine was taken out this year by David Dickson while the annual Best and Fairest Pennants player award sponsored by David Dickson was won by Pat Kemp. The headline event of the day was the annual clash between the East and West teams with the East regaining the trophy by a very slim margin.
Urunga Women
Pat Chapman reports – Urunga Women’s Bowling Club's program for 2018 came to a close last week with an enjoyable Christmas celebration at Club Urunga. A delicious lunch was served by Dickie from the East Garden Restaurant and toe tapping entertainment was provided by Vanessa Nugent and her ukulele group. Thanks go to vice-presidents Sylvia Mitchell and Helen Fisher and their helpers for organising the day.
For those who just can't do without their bowls there will be roll-ups on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the start of the 2019 program on Tuesday January 8. Nominations for the 22019 major pairs close on January 10 and play will start on January 15. The pennants season starts on March 5.
Urunga women bowlers send Christmas and New Year greetings to Editor Chris at the Nambucca Guardian and to all the local sporting clubs with best wishes for a happy and successful 2019.

Bowraville Recreation Club Christmas Party is on Sunday from noon. Bring a plate, cost $10 each.
Nambucca Heads Women
Jen Forne reports – last Wednesday’s Single Stableford had 34 starters. Jennifer Johnston was overall winner and winner of A Grade with 36 points. Anne Hamilton, a visitor from Belmont, was A Grade runner-up with 32 points. Heather Gray won B Grade with 34, runner-up Sue Seymour 32. C Grade winner Dianne Hopkins 27 points with runner-up Kerry Shearer 26. Nearest the pins on 5th - Div 1 Donna Easey and Div 2 Mary Rees. Donna Easey also won the pizza on the 13th and Kay McGoldrick won the 18th pro pin. Ball run went to 29 points.
