Colts batted first and Chris McDonald was dropped in the first over when he was not off the mark and what a costly drop it was with ‘Macca’ going on to retire on 143 – setting up a massive total for the Colts team of 6/296. Dane Luffman chipped in at the end with a 37 not out while Troy Grace was 32 not out.
Jake Nicolas was best with the ball with 2/51 off his eight overs and Josh Willer gets a mention for his 1/27 at a time when Macca was dispatching them everywhere.

But his uncle Claye had the last laugh sending him way over the road – losing the ball in the long grass. Daniel 3/7 and Troy Grace 2/9 were best with the ball.

Scotts Head vs Nambucca Hotel
Tom Barber reports – Hotel won the toss and elected to bowl. It don’t take long for Hotel to strike as Curtis Ellis bowled Lachie Bennett for a duck. A few overs later Ryan Gleeson fell for 17 after smoking one down J Newman’s throat. Scotts Head looked vulnerable at 2/24 as Ethan Davidson came to the wicket. A sturdy partnership between Ethan and Dylan Stewart steadied things as they got Scotts to 3/54 at the drinks break with Dylan being dismissed for 15. Ethan and Andrew Welsh put on a solid partnership after drinks until Ethan was out for 38 in the 30th over. Scotts Head put the foot down in the last 10 overs as Andrew Welsh led the way with an unbeaten 79 as the side reached 6/189 after 40 overs. Best bowler for Hotel was J Ahearn 3/52.
Hotel’s run chase was hampered early as Jake White took a great catch to remove Dean Ward for a duck. This didn’t deter J Newman as he put together a strong 40 littered with seven boundaries before losing his stumps to Logan Donovan which had Hotel 2/59. T Bekis’ innings came to an end as Norm Devereaux took a fantastic catch to dismiss him for 22. Hotel went into the drinks break 5/90 with the game up for grabs but were all out for 134.
