But it isn’t just your normal, everyday driving school, The Community Driving School is part of a larger social enterprise plan by TCTC, which will help not only its customers but society as a whole.
The Community Transport Company, Chief Executive Officer, Bethany Langford said social enterprise businesses trade to intentionally give back to their community, tackling social problems and increasing employment opportunities for the community.
“We have setup The Community Driving School so that its profits are reinvested into the community for the betterment of society,” Ms Langford said.
It is a business model that is a growing worldwide as Governments cut or reduce funding and grant structures and non-profits struggle to support growing social issues.
The driving school will provide training and guidance to learners, with our expert driving instructors, supporting them along the way. Lessons are one hour in length, boosting the confidence and skills of customers, whilst adding to their logbook hours.
The Community Driving School can also deliver tailored, individualised programs to CALD (Cultural and Linguistically Diverse) clients.
“We believe this business model just makes sense, everyday our highly-trained drivers get people where they need to go, putting in a massive 25,000 of volunteer driving hours each year.
“Why not pass that experience onto learner drivers to develop good habits from the start, increase their awareness on the road and get extra hours added to their logbooks.”
