The questionnaire, being conducted by Hydrosphere Consulting on behalf of Nambucca Shire Council and the Office of Environment and Heritage, is part of community engagement to help produce the Coastal Management Program for the Nambucca Shire Coastline and Estuaries.
“We want to provide the community with an opportunity to input into the development of a comprehensive, long-term management plan that will bring together existing information, and identify matters that have not previously been addressed,” Mayor Rhonda Hoban said
“The community survey gives everyone a chance to give their feedback on current issues and the future management of our beaches, headlands, foreshores and waterways”.
More information is available on the project web page including links to a suite of existing management plans, strategies and estuary health documentation.
Visit https://www.hydrosphere.com.au/nambuccacmp to access the online survey or printed copies are available at the Nambucca Council Administration Building, Macksville Library and the Nambucca Heads Library.
The project team can be contacted directly through the project communication portal on the project web page.
The survey will be open until January 11, 2019.
A community information session will be held at Nambucca Community and Arts Centre on Thursday, December 6 from 12:30 - 3:30 pm.
Community members are invited to drop-in and share your local knowledge and ideas about future management of our beaches and waterways with the project team. A short presentation will be given at 1:30pm.
