While you’re all enjoying your Christmas hams, prawns and Nambucca oysters, please spare a thought for me at the Macksville Hospital breathlessly creating my own little Christmas miracle.
My move from Melbourne to the Nambucca Valley in June last year was the best thing I ever did, and you have all welcomed me wholeheartedly into your community.
It has left a very deep impression on this city girl and it has been a singular pleasure getting to know you all and being tasked with the privilege of telling your stories.
But this is a ‘Ta Ta For Now’, not a forever goodbye.
I will be back at my Guardian News desk, with infant in tow, in the latter half of the new year.
Until then, I leave you in the very capable hands of my colleagues Ute Schulenberg and Stephen Katte.
And please, if you see me waddling around town, come and say hello.
Peace out, homies!
