A number of Australian Rally Championship title competitors participated.
Among those hopefuls on the dirt earlier this week were Harry Bates, Eli Evans, Molly Taylor and Steve Glenney.
The WRC 2 championship is open to powerful four-wheel drive cars that fall in the RC2 class of the technical regulations.
Essentially WRC2 is the primary support series to the World Rally Championship and the final stepping stone to the headline WRC category.
The title-deciding final round at Kennards Hire Rally Australia on the Coffs Coast starts on Thursday.
Highlights include the fan-friendly Destination NSW Super Special Stage at the Jetty leisure precinct on the Coffs Harbour waterfront.
Organisers believe the Raleigh Special Stage, Saturday’s epic 29 km Welshs Special Stage and the final day’s Wedding Bells Power Stage, where thousands of spectators will watch the rally and the 2018 season – will capture the racing public’s attention.
