The Nambucca-Macksville Evening VIEW Club is currently working towards sponsoring its sixth student.
But with the school year almost out and Christmas just around the corner, the club decided to join forces with the Bonville-Boambee VIEW club to put their money towards another admirable cause.
The two clubs together raised a total of $2000 in vouchers, along with plenty of gift bags, to give to drought-affected farmers to help them with Christmas gifts for their families.
This initiative was the brainchild of Bonville-Boambee president Lorraine Armstrong and her team as they recognised that with Christmas approaching, struggling farmers would have yet another worry.
The donations are heading off to Dubbo right now, just in time for some Christmas shopping.
In other news, the Utungun Hall is fundraising again with a Tea, Tipple and Temptations afternoon tea at 2pm on Sunday, November 25.
The lovely VIEW club ladies will be there to perform a special ‘ballet’, alongside a burlesque performer and the wonderful voices of the Nambucca Entertainers.
Tickets are only $25 and include a smorgasboard of delicious food and a glass of bubbles or punch on arrival. Christmas hampers and cakes will also be raffled off on the day.
Booking are essential for catering purposes but you can pay on the day. Call Gwen on 6569-6213 or Anne on 0412 048-588 to book
