Heading into St Pat’s on Friday was like stepping into one of those phizzwizards from Roald Dahl’s the BFG; the best parts of being a kid all rolled into one wondrous dreamscape.

Facepainting, rainbow hairspraying, chocolate tossing, Nerf guns, star-studded dance routines, a haunted maze, and a jumping castle wonderland – it was all there and more.
The local community has been working hard for months on the school’s annual end-of-year fundraiser, and it showed.
A smorgasboard of cakes and sweets had been lovingly baked, gift-wrapped and donated by local families.
Parents had volunteered their time since the early hours of the morning in order to get everything prepared for the afternoon festivities.
And a huge list of local businesses had generously donated supplies to make sure the event was a huge success.
While final figures are still being tallied up, the clearest sign that the day was a huge success were the fun-fuelled, glazed countenances of the kidlets being strapped into cars at the end of the day, full of sugar, happy memories, and hope for the Summer ahead.
