They say a picture tells a thousand words. And it’s true – there’s nothing quite like being able to revisit the Valley’s past through old photographs.

At 11am on Saturday, December 1, David Ainsworth will be launching a photographic exhibition at Nambucca’s Headland Museum. The exhibition salutes the area’s timber getters as well as the pioneer dairy farmers and it will feature photographs not often seen.
The Ainsworths were a pioneering family and their descendants have had a lasting impact on the Nambucca Valley’s development. Many will know David through his long association with the Nambucca River Cooperative Society, (which was formed in 1903 to support the fledgling dairy industry) and through his service with Macksville Rotary.
The photographs featured in the exhibition will be for sale and prints up to A3 can be ordered. In addition, greeting cards with historic photographs will be for sale singly and in sets and any of these items would make a unique and readily-affordable Christmas gift - particularly for those loved ones who are ‘hard to buy for’.
Following the launch, the Lions Club of Nambucca Heads will be presenting a sausage sizzle, with proceeds supporting the Lions Club’s many initiatives.
Presented as an open day from 11am until 4pm, the Headland Museum invites you to celebrate the Valley’s pioneers by browsing through the exhibition as well as the rest of the collection. We look forward to your company.
