A farmers theme had guests dressing up in plaid and akubras and lining up to toss a gumboot for first dibs on bubbly and chockie blocks.
Over some mouth-watering cold and hot platters and some very pink-looking bubbly, punters were playing against the bookie.
One lovely lady from Phoenix had the lion’s share of the luck, snapping up wins on three races in a row.
After lunch, the Club’s Zumba Gold Class got up to shake what their mummas gave ’em in a Zumba routine that rocked the dance floor.
The big winner on the day was the three-year-old Cross Counter ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, which paid $12.20 for a win, and $5.40 for a place.
It was only the horse’s eighth start, and what a good one! McEvoy has now taken out his third cup.
Coming in second was Marmelo at $3.70 for the place, and then Prince of Arran at $7.40.
