It’s the Bowraville Memorial Cup and it’s on this Thursday and Friday at Bowraville’s Hennessy Tape Oval.
Now in its third year, the Cup was started as a way to increase inclusiveness and opportunities for the town’s youth, who are growing up in the shadow of this tragic past.
By bringing the community, organisations and stakeholders together alongside the sport and activities, the hope is that services can engage with the community to achieve better outcomes.
A variety of organisations will be on site on both days, including health, education, youth services and National Disability Insurance Scheme providers.
There will also be a big healthy feed, jumping castles and a photo booth on both days as well as a petting zoo on Thursday.
The highlight is the touch comp, which brings kids from the Valley and Coffs together, mixes them up into different teams and cheers them on in a variety of short, fun round robins.
Stallholder and player registrations are still welcome. For more information phone David on 0438 389 153 or email david.reid@galambila.org.au.
