There is a story around at the moment saying the Greens claim Labor doesn't support the Great Koala National Park. This is 100 per cent untrue.

Labor is 100 percent committed to the preservation of Koalas and the Great Koala National Park. There is no ambiguity.
So what's this story about?
We see it all the time in the federal Senate and NSW Upper House. The Greens put forward motions knowing they will never get up because they're legislatively unfeasible, technically incorrect or would never work in the real world. Thus they are opposed by Labor, as they should and must. Then the motion gets defeated; the Greens scream 'blue murder' and then use this to generate publicity in mainstream media, social media and as a reason to seek donations from an unsuspecting public. We see it often. It is an old trick. Create a problem, can't get it solved and then scream about it.
So, I urge the Greens to support efforts to elect a Labor government and defeat the Nationals so we can get the Great Koala National Park we all want. The GKNP is a serious policy initiative and not a political publicity and fundraising play thing.
