Over 300 stations around Australia compete in over 30 categories, and this year Nambucca Valley Radio has two award finalists.
Rachel Burns is one of four finalists in the inaugural ‘Excellence in Journalism’ and the team of Michelle and Kim Smith and Helena Johnston are finalists in the ‘Best Radio Program - Talks’.
“Once again 2NVR is demonstrating that we can produce quality local community radio which is recognised nationally,” Rachel said.
Rachel’s entry was for her year long coverage of the Pacific Highway upgrade which left the residents of Valla and Browns Crossing with serious side effects.
Michelle’s team produced a talk show called ‘Dying To Know You’ as part of the Happy and Healthy Show, which featured end of life discussions.
The award winners will be announced on November 10 at the CBAA conference at the Gold Coast convention centre.
