Hundreds from up and down the Mid North Coast make the trek to Macksville to attend this annual green-thumbed event which will be held this Saturday, October 6.
There will be a huge variety of stalls yet again; amongst them will be a vast array of plants, art, garden ornaments, jewellery, food, clothing, fudge and also the tool sharpener will be back.
There will be donation buckets on the gates to collect money for the new Macksville Hospital and a raffle that will be drawn on the day, with first prize being a $500 voucher for one of the many businesses who have donated to the Gala.
Throughout the day, various people will share their knowledge on a wealth of topics in the hall:
- At 9.30am Nambucca Valley Landcare will share what they do
- At 10am and 12:30pm Mark Tyler will share information about the new Macksville Hospital, with an opportunity to ask questions after.
- At 10:30am Tiarne Peisley from Nambucca Valley Aquaponics will share the benefits of Aquaponics.
- Steven from Little Star Bee Sanctuary will talk about beekeeping and threats to the industry at 11am.
- at 11:30am local author, Karly Lane, will talk about her new novel
- At 12pm, Sandi Cleary from Blushing Blueberries along with Marc Percival from Agrisense will talk about organic blueberries, and their award winning products.
The proceedings in the hall will end with the raffle and lucky gate prize draw.
Everyone who comes to the Garden Gala will receive an entry ticket. To be in the running for a prize all you need to do put your name and number on the ticket and pop it in the box at the Garden Gala site up near the Macksville Show Society BBQ.
Prizes have been kindly donated by Webb’s BP, Macksville RSL, Tutti Fruity Wholesale, Trisley’s Betty Electrical, Nambucca Heads RSL and Perry’s Lemon Myrtle.
