And the benefits from this year’s event keep on rolling in.
Event organisers, Luke and Donna Pell, have recently handed over a stack of cash to some of our Valley’s most beloved community organisations.
A total of $9000 was raised from charity donations during the 10-day long Volkswagen festival, with $3000 each heading the way of our Nambucca Rotary and Lions clubs.
A further $1500 was generously donated to our Valley’s Fire and Rescue crews, $1000 to the Rural Fire Service and $500 to the Volunteer Rescue Association.
But it doesn’t stop there.
A further $3000 was presented to the Nambucca Valley Cancer Support Group, which was the sum raised from the successful signature high tea and ‘morning of pampering’ events held at the Nambucca Heads RSL Club.
Donna would like to note the contributions of several locals and businesses who went above and beyond in helping the smooth running of this event: Billy Joe Davis from Davis Seafood, the Nambucca Heads RSL, Galleria Eat Shop Relax and the Divine Soul Centre for donating fashions for the parade, and a special thanks to the work placement students from Nambucca and Macksville High Schools and the Peninton brothers for donating their special musical talents.
If you didn’t get a chance to join in on the excitement of the Spectacular, here’s what you missed. The word on the street was this year’s event was the best one yet.
