Every Tuesday, at the Bowraville race track, a local art group meets to further their skills and to enjoy their love of creating art. Some months ago they kindly donated a art work to the Jockey Club board for allowing them to use the facility for their activities.
It is quite a lovely work and the board has decided to use this work to raise funds for drought relief.
It is proposed to raffle this art work and collect donations on the day. Volunteers will sell tickets and carry buckets to collect loose change and the total sum will be donated to drought relief along with a further donation from the Jockey Club.
Support for this initiative from patrons will be greatly appreciated as this cause is of major concern to most Australians and relief is still a long way away.
The Jockey Club board believes that every little bit helps and it has decided to make this effort to support the people doing it tough on the land.
This race day is always a great occasion and is one of the major racing events on the local calendar.
All attendees will be able to give a little to help drought relief and also have a great time at one of the most picturesque race tracks in country Australia.
