Filling up the second runners-up spot were Alvin Rapley and Keith Elphick with a score of 45 points.

Playing in the last group, Mark Blake and Barrie Nicholson, put together 44 points, as did Gary Roach and Bill Percy, Jim Barrie and Trevor Hopkins, and Robert Bond and Dave Mattacott.

Last Thursday’s numbers where down due to rain and the greens being cored and sanded early in the week – however some 58 players turned out.

From Newcastle, Matt Burns playing off three, put together a score of 40 points to win division A. Runner-up in the division was Drew Glasson (8 handicap) with 39 points. In division B, Bernard Dugdale (19) had a round of 41 to take out the voucher from Mark McFaul (21) 35 points who finished runner-up.

Ball rundown went to just 32 and five players will collect in Scott Burley, Stu Johnston, Lillian Cooney, Paul Maxwell, and Steve Ellis (Macksville).

The club expects the greens will be well and truly be back to their best by Thursday as they were almost ‘there’ for Saturday’s round, thanks to the efforts of the greens staff. Thursday’s round will be a two person ambrose while Saturday will be a medley stableford sponsored by Macksville Mitre 10.
